New Culture Society (NCS) is an online magazine born and based in the West. NCS serves as the central hub for music, fashion, literature, and cinema expertly curated by those who have proven themselves worthy of dictating and setting trends. Our mission is to present original content by West Coast staffers to those who love the West as much we do and to those whose curiosity is piqued by this den of ingenuity known as the Best Coast.
Collectively, we hold bachelor’s degrees, master’s degrees, and doctorates from well-recognized colleges and universities. Our work has been featured online (URB Magazine and SoulBounce.com) as well as print publications (LA Weekly and O Magazine). Creatively, we have worked with many artists, such as Foreign Exchange, Musiq Soulchild, Jason Derulo and Beyonce. Members of our writing staff have also had the pleasure of covering the GRAMMY Awards and working with BET, MTV, Universal/Motown and more.
What New Culture Society represents are three distinct entities:
NEW
relates to novel concepts. NCS is based in the West. L.A. to be exact. We strive to rise above the bias when it comes to the West Coast and aim to present it in a way that is fresh, youthful, flavorful, and devoid of pretense.
CULTURE
is a pretty daunting concept to live up to. We strive to demonstrate that culture is a constantly changing, evolving, morphing being. And we happily race to remain at the forefront, exposing you to new perspectives.
SOCIETY
represents a group of like-minded individuals. As sentient beings, we are not robotic facsimiles. We do, however, work towards the common goal to find what’s freshest and hottest to present.
